Rodrigo Formigal and Diogo Pereira Duarte lead Abreu Advogados’ Financial Law practice
The two lawyers join the partner José Maria Corrêa de Sampaio in the coordination of Banking and Finance Law, one of the main practice areas of the firm.
Abreu Advogados has appointed Rodrigo Formigal and Diogo Pereira Duarte as coordinators of the Banking and Finance practice area, joining José Maria Corrêa de Sampaio in the growth and specialization of this team.
Rodrigo Formigal, a partner at Abreu Advogados, has provided strategic advice to banks and other financial institutions and has participated in the structuring of some of last years’ most relevant credit operations. He also has a recognized experience in real estate finance, credit portfolios transmission and in structured finance transactions. Throughout his career, he has accumulated distinctions from the most important international directories and was distinguished by Legal 500 as Next Generation Partner.

Diogo Pereira Duarte, a professional partner at Abreu Advogados and a Professor at Lisbon University Law School, has developed his activity focusing on the regulatory aspects of licensing, internal governance and resolution of financial institutions and in the area of financial intermediation and Capital Markets. He also has extensive experience in FinTech and crypto-activities areas, data protection and ESG (environmental, social and governance) in financial services.
