Raize granted with the European Crowdfunding License by the CMVM

Abreu Advogados assisted the crowdfunding platform Raize to get the authorization to operate under the European Crowdfunding Regulation.

The Abreu Advogados team were led by the partner Diogo Pereira Duarte, co-coordinator of the Banking and Finance team and FinTech practice, Rafael Silva Teopisto, associate, and the trainees lawyers Alexandra Rebordão Sousa and Mafalda Santos Cordeiro, also formed part of the team.

Raize was the first Portuguese crowdfunding platform to be registered with the CMVM, being a subsidiary of Raize IP, authorized by the Bank of Portugal and admitted to trading at the Euronext Lisbon. In 2023 Raize was distinguished by CNBC and Statista as one of the 200 best fintechs worldwide. Revolut, Paypal and Klarna are also in the rankings.

Based on this new license under the European Crowdfunding Regulation, Raize is now authorized to perform the activities of placement and reception and transmission of orders on securities and other admitted instruments and to operate cross border through the European market under the European Passport regime.
