Abreu Advogados contributes to Multilaw article on technology and AI in the energy transition

Tiago Corrêa do Amaral and Ricardo Henriques are the authors of the article “Technology and AI in the Energy Transition: From Optimisation to Infrastructure”, published by Multilaw. In the article, they examine how artificial intelligence and other digital tools are being applied in the context of the energy transition, as well as the governance, integration, cybersecurity and contractual challenges associated with their implementation.

The authors highlight that Portugal’s energy transition is based on an increasingly decentralised and digitalised electricity system, in line with the PNEC 2030, identifying four areas of particular relevance for the application of technology and AI: grid and demand data management, aggregation and flexibility services, performance analytics for renewable assets, and also electric mobility and green hydrogen.
