Filipa Calheiros Ferraz to speak at symposium on climate science and climate law

Filipa Calheiros Ferraz will take part on 3 June in the Interdisciplinary Symposium – Decoding Climate Science for Climate Law, held at Utrecht University, in the Netherlands, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:25 p.m.

She will speak on the panel “Scientific uncertainties and the robustness of evidence”, dedicated to scientific uncertainties and the robustness of evidence in the context of climate litigation. Filipa Calheiros Ferraz will address the topic “Evidentiary gaps in determining and quantifying loss and damage”, focusing on the evidentiary challenges associated with determining and quantifying loss and damage.

The symposium aims to bring scientific knowledge closer to legal practice, promoting dialogue between specialists from different fields on how climate science can be interpreted, communicated and used in court proceedings and in the development of legally robust arguments.
