Ana Rita Duarte de Campos participates in conference on technology in criminal proceedings
Ana Rita Duarte de Campos, Of Counsel at Abreu Advogados, will take part on 2 September in the conference “A More Technological Criminal Procedure: without fear, with moderation”, organised by the General Council of the Portuguese Bar Association.
The event will take place at the Portuguese Bar Association’s Main Hall in Lisbon and aims to foster discussion on the challenges and safeguards associated with the introduction of new technologies into criminal proceedings.
Ana Rita Duarte de Campos will join the roundtable discussion beginning at 3.00 pm, moderated by journalist Mariana Oliveira, alongside Paulo Saragoça da Matta and João Gouveia de Caires. Following a break, the debate will continue with contributions from Frederico Machado Simões and Bruno Carvalho Pereira.
With extensive experience in Economic and Financial Criminal Law, Administrative Offences, International Judicial Cooperation in Criminal Matters and Compliance, Ana Rita Duarte de Campos will join a panel of specialists to reflect on the impact of technological developments on criminal proceedings and on the balance between innovation and the protection of fundamental safeguards.
The conference will begin at 2.30 pm with the presentation of the book “Security – Different Views, One Cause”, by Bruno Carvalho Pereira, which will be introduced by João Massano, President of the Portuguese Bar Association. The event is scheduled to close at 5.00 pm.
