Inês Sequeira Mendes highlights Abreu Advogados’ strategic priorities in an interview with Jornal Económico
In an interview with Jornal Económico, Inês Sequeira Mendes highlighted digital transformation, talent development, international reach and sustainable growth as the firm’s strategic priorities.
Technology plays a central role in this journey, with the implementation of Abreu 360 and the creation of the Digital Transformation Department. The aim is to increase efficiency, improve ways of working and enhance the value of the services provided to clients. Inês nevertheless stressed that the adoption of new tools must be carried out responsibly and accompanied by the development of teams’ skills.
In a rapidly evolving legal market, judgement, critical analysis and an understanding of clients’ businesses will become increasingly important. For this reason, talent will remain the main differentiating factor, while also requiring training models for new generations of lawyers to evolve.
International work, which represents a significant share of Abreu’s turnover, will also remain a key driver of growth. The firm intends to preserve its independence and Portuguese identity, while continuing to provide a global response through its network of partners.
Growth will continue to be predominantly organic, without ruling out new hires or consolidation opportunities. As Abreu Advogados’ managing partner stressed, the priority is not to “grow for growth’s sake”, but to ensure solid and sustainable development, built on people, innovation and close relationships with clients.
