Diogo Orvalho speaks to ECO about labour reform and the future of Employment Law practice
Diogo Orvalho gave an interview to ECO on the Labour XXI employment reform, the challenges facing employment legislation in Portugal, and the priorities for this new stage of his career at Abreu Advogados.
In the interview, he argues that the Government sought to strike a balance in the labour reform, with measures that are “neither exclusively protectionist nor openly liberalising”, while also highlighting the need for greater consistency, predictability and clarity in the evolution of the legal framework.
Diogo Orvalho also emphasises the importance of continuing to strengthen Abreu Advogados’ position as a leading firm in employment law, focusing on the internationalisation of the practice and investing in the development of the team. He also stresses that Employment Law requires particular attention to human relationships, advocating a culture of responsibility, proximity, technical rigour and wellbeing within the team.
