José Rijo to speak at the XVIII International Congress of Customs Studies in Belo Horizonte
José Rijo will take part in the XVIII International Congress of Customs Studies 2026, as ABEAD Portugal Attaché, taking place on 25 and 26 June in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. His participation strengthens the Portuguese presence at an international event dedicated to discussing the main challenges facing Customs Law and international trade.
Regarding his participation, he highlights the timeliness of the congress, which takes place at a moment marked by new dynamics in international trade relations.
“At a time clearly marked by protectionist practices that were long thought to have been eradicated from international trade, the recent entry into force of the Interim Trade Agreement between the European Union and Mercosur represents a breath of fresh air in the complex web in which international trade relations currently operate. There could certainly be no better theme for my participation in the XVIII International Congress of Customs Studies, taking place on 25 and 26 June in Belo Horizonte.”
José Rijo is also a founding member of Greenlane – The Alliance of European and Trade Law Firms and International Attaché of ABEAD in Portugal.
