Rita Albuquerque is the new professional partner of Abreu Advogados

The lawyer joins the firm with over 17 years’ experience in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate reorganizations, joint ventures and commercial contracts.

Rita Albuquerque is the latest professional partner to join Abreu Advogados. This move represents a strategic investment by Abreu Advogados in the Corporate, Commercial and M&A area, led by José Maria Corrêa de Sampaio, Ana Sofia Batista and Manuel Santos Vítor, and particularly in the private equity segment.

he lawyer joins Abreu from PLMJ, where she was a Managing Associate in the Corporate and M&A area, having advised several national and international clients on a wide range of M&A and corporate restructuring projects.

Her name has been associated with some of the largest M&A deals in Portugal, advising leading companies and private equity funds in a variety of sectors, including sovereign wealth funds, industry, distribution, new technologies and innovation and media.

Rita Albuquerque has a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, an LL.M. Advanced Programme in International Business Law from the Portuguese Catholic University and a post-graduate degree in Corporate Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.

Her professional experience includes working at PLMJ and Garrigues, where she was recognised as a Recommended Lawyer in the areas of M&A Law and Corporate Law by The Best Lawyers (since 2018) and as a Recommended Lawyer in the area of Corporate/M&A by The Legal 500 (since 2019).
