Abreu Advogados advises SKK on the integration of the KoolSys brand into LFB Group
Abreu Advogados advised the Portuguese company SKK – Central de Distribuição para Refrigeração e Climatização, S.A. on the structuring of a strategic partnership with LFB Group, an internationally recognised company in the refrigeration sector. The partnership involves an investment in SKK Manufacturing, which operates commercially under the KoolSys name and brand.
The Abreu Advogados team was led by professional partner Diogo Pessanha and included senior associate lawyer Benedita Pessanha and associate lawyer Maria Eduarda Fernandes.
KoolSys is dedicated to the design, engineering, manufacture and commercialisation of electrified refrigeration equipment and environmentally sustainable technologies, with a particular focus on natural refrigerants such as CO₂. Since 2023, the company has been a partner and supplier of Friga-Bohn, LFB Group’s refrigeration brand. This investment therefore marks a new stage in the collaboration between the companies, combining KoolSys’ expertise in CO₂ systems with Friga-Bohn’s product portfolio, industrial expertise and commercial presence.
By joining LFB Group’s portfolio, alongside Friga-Bohn, Redge, APX DCS and Hydronic, KoolSys is strengthening its capacity to innovate, expand its presence in European markets and develop increasingly efficient and sustainable refrigeration and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) solutions.
KoolSys will continue to benefit from the expertise and flexibility of its current team, while now also having access to LFB Group’s industrial resources, commercial network and market knowledge. Friga-Bohn and KoolSys share the ambition of developing more efficient, reliable and sustainable refrigeration solutions and offering more comprehensive solutions to their customers.
