Constança Machado Leite highlights Generation Z’s new expectations of the legal profession

As part of an analysis of the expectations of this new generation of lawyers, Constança Machado Leite underlines the growing importance placed on factors such as work-life balance, continuous development and the quality of the matters in which young professionals are involved.

“I believe that working on interesting, high-quality matters, with the support of experienced teams, is one of the most important factors at an early stage of a career,” says Constança Machado Leite, highlighting the importance of hands-on learning and exposure to highly qualified teams in professional development.

She also notes that work-life balance is becoming an increasingly central issue within the profession. “Having room for one’s personal life is essential if we are to be the best version of ourselves in our professional lives. It is also something that, I believe, is gradually acquired and learned to be managed with maturity throughout one’s professional journey,” she says.
