Abreu Advogados takes part in AEMinho Executive Breakfast on tax risks in exports
On 25 March, Joana Maldonado Reis and Sara Soares took part in the Executive Breakfast organised by AEMinho – Associação Empresarial do Minho, held at Maison Albar Amoure, in Vila Verde, Braga. The session was dedicated to the topic “Exporting without tax surprises: what companies need to know before the next inspection”, bringing together companies from the region for a practical discussion on the main tax risks associated with export operations and the application of VAT exemption.
During the session, Abreu Advogados’ Tax Law specialists addressed issues of particular relevance to the business community, with a focus on the legal requirements for proving transport, the Tax Authority’s demands in the context of inspections, and developments in European and national case law on this subject.
Their contribution helped to clarify critical issues that continue to give rise to tax adjustments and highlighted the importance of companies being thoroughly prepared in the organisation of their procedures and supporting documentation.
Joana Maldonado Reis and Sara Soares also shared practical tax risk mitigation strategies, underlining the importance of prevention, documentary rigour and the adoption of good practices capable of reducing exposure to contingencies with significant financial impact.
