João Lupi to speak in debate on the EU Space Act with the European Commission

João Lupi will take part in the “Diálogos com Espaço” meeting, organised by the Portuguese Space Agency, on 10 April at 9 a.m. at Teatro Thalia in Lisbon.

The initiative, open to the public, will bring together institutional representatives and experts to discuss the new European legislative proposal for the space sector — the EU Space Act — currently under discussion within the institutions of the European Union.

The event will feature the participation of Rodolphe Muñoz, from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS), followed by a round table with national entities responsible for regulation, security and the development of the space sector.

Building on the debate initiated in September 2025, the session aims to further explore the impact of the EU Space Act in both national and European contexts, addressing topics such as competitiveness, sustainability, governance and the development of the single space market.

Portugal’s participation in this process is considered essential to ensure that the future European framework reflects the priorities and potential of the national space ecosystem.
