Vanessa Câmara points to Golden Visas as a driver of investment in the Capital Markets
Golden Visas continue to play a significant role in the Portuguese economy, now extending their impact to the capital markets. In an interview with Jornal Económico, Vanessa Câmara explains that most foreign investors have been subscribing to investment and venture capital funds, with €500,000 being the most commonly used amount under this scheme.
From the perspective of the senior associate lawyer at Abreu Advogados, who primarily works in immigration law, this model represents “an interesting mechanism for investors and a way to contribute to the national economy and Portuguese companies.” She also emphasises that, despite administrative delays, “it is expected that AIMA will approve the applications within the 90-day period established by law, since the investment is already in Portugal and investors and their families are awaiting residence permits.”
