Abreu Advogados at ELA’s Annual Legal Conference on AI
Abreu Advogados will participate in the European Lawyers’ Association (ELA) XLI Annual General Meeting’s Legal Conference, taking place on 30 May at the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto, under the theme “Open Lecture on ‘The Regulation of AI: Technological Innovation in Times of Uncertainty’”.
The opening session will be led by Paulo de Tarso Domingues, Partner at Abreu Advogados.
Eduardo Peixoto Gomes, also a Partner, and Luís Barreto Xavier, Chair of the Knowledge Institute and Innovation Counsel at Abreu Advogados, will join the first panel discussion, dedicated to the topic “Why and How to Foster Technological Innovation”.
Abreu Advogados’ presence at the conference highlights the firm’s active role in addressing the legal and ethical challenges posed by technological innovation and the regulation of Artificial Intelligence.
The European Lawyers’ Association (ELA) is the alumni association of the European Lawyers’ Programme (and its predecessor, the European Young Lawyers’ Scheme), founded in 1985 to maintain and strengthen the professional and social ties established during the programme and to foster new links among legal professionals, especially in the UK. It has around 700 members from 28 countries and is registered in Belgium as an international non-profit association.
