Portuguese constitutional Court confirms Kris Meeke’s national championship title

On 6 November 2025, the Constitutional Court issued a ruling, now made public, confirming the decision to award the 2024 Portuguese Rally Championship title to Irish driver Kris Meeke.
The Court rejected the appeal filed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which sought to overturn the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport issued in the arbitral proceedings brought by Kris Meeke and Sports & You / Team Hyundai Portugal.
At issue in the arbitral proceedings was the decision of the Portuguese Federation of Automobilism and Karting (FPAK) not to award the 2024 national rally championship title to the driver, despite his victory in the competition.
The decision of the Constitutional Court represents an affirmation of the values of sporting justice and sets an important precedent for the development and fairness of national sporting competitions.
