Pedro Pais de Almeida addresses the internationalisation of law firms at the 4th FALP Congress in Macao

Macao will host the 4th Congress of the Federation of Portuguese-Speaking Lawyers (FALP) from 19 to 21 November, one of the most significant legal gatherings in the Lusophone world. Pedro Pais de Almeida, partner at Abreu Advogados and President of FALP, will play a prominent role in the opening session and in guiding the work of the congress.

Pedro Pais de Almeida will take part in the Welcome Session, which opens the Congress on the morning of 20 November, alongside representatives of the Macao SAR Government, the Macao Lawyers Association and the scientific committee. As President of FALP, he will welcome participants from the various Portuguese-speaking countries and territories and highlight the importance of legal cooperation within the context of Sino-Lusophone relations.

In addition to his opening remarks, the lawyer will also moderate one of the congress’s central panels, dedicated to the topic “The internationalisation of law firms: choice or consequence”, which will take place later that day, from 11:30 to 13:00.

The panel will feature contributions from Guilherme Daniel (GDA Advogados, Mozambique), José Lupi (José Lupi & Associados, Macao) and Catarina Levy Osório (ALC Advogados, Angola), fostering a debate on the challenges and opportunities faced by law firms in an increasingly global and competitive market.

The FALP 2025 Congress is held under the overarching theme “Law within Sino-Lusophone relations” and brings together lawyers, academics, regulators and institutional representatives from all Portuguese-speaking countries, as well as from China, with the aim of deepening legal dialogue and exploring areas of strategic cooperation.
