Abreu Advogados Contributes to Chambers Cybersecurity Guide 2025

Abreu Advogados has contributed to the Chambers Cybersecurity Guide, with a chapter dedicated to Portugal. Ricardo Henriques and Diogo Pereira Duarte are the authors of the “Law and Practice” section. They are joined by José Maria Alves Pereira and Leonor de Sá e Frade for the “Trends and Developments” analysis, which explores the sector’s evolution and outlook for 2025.

The authors highlight Portugal’s strong commitment to cybersecurity, illustrated by the adoption of the National Cybersecurity Strategy, the transposition of the NIS 2 Directive on network and information systems, and the proactive role played by the National Cybersecurity Centre, among other developments. The chapter also addresses key challenges, particularly in ensuring compliance and adapting to new regulations.
