Abreu Advogados advises Veolia Portugal on the acquisition of Micronipol

Abreu Advogados advised the Veolia Portugal Group on the acquisition of 100% of Micronipol, a major company specialising in the Micronisation and Recycling of Polymers, from funds managed by Explorer Investments, a Portuguese venture capital company.

 

Abreu Advogados advised Veolia Portugal throughout the due diligence and transaction processes, as well as all the processes involving communication and issues related to the Competition Authority (AdC).

The Abreu Advogados team that advised Veolia was led by Marta Romano de Castro, Partner, and had the support of Professional Partners Patrícia Perestrelo and Madalena Bernardes Coelho and Associates Benedita Marques Pombo and Alexandra Jardim.

With this acquisition, Veolia strengthens its presence in Portugal in the waste sector, where it already carries out activities in the collection, transport, recycling and recovery of waste, now adding the plastics recycling aspect. The aim is to accelerate the ecological transformation in order to combat pollution, the scarcity of essential resources and to support cities and industries in decarbonising their activities.
