Sónia Gemas Donário, partner at Abreu Advogados, spoke to LAW360 about the fact that the European Commission has not clearly defined the concepts relating to the state aid programme which led to the determination that Portugal was applying it incorrectly the support in the Madeira Free Trade Zone..

In the conversation the lawyer who has defended plaintiffs suing the European Commission highlighted that “the commission did not define nor required Portugal to clearly define the meaning of those concepts when it approved the state aid”.
