Luís Barreto Xavier takes part in the 8th edition of “Net Viva & Segura”
Luís Barreto Xavier, of counsel at Abreu Advogados and President of the Knowledge Institute, is taking part in the 8th edition of the “Net Viva & Segura” event, an initiative of the AcademIA project, promoted by Google and DECO PROteste.
The 2026 edition will take place on 4 May, from 9.30 a.m. to 12.15 p.m., in the Maria Keil Room, at Jardim dos Montes Claros, in Monsanto, Lisbon. Under the theme “Preparing young people to overcome the challenges of a world with Artificial Intelligence, today and in the future”, the event will bring together specialists and industry leaders to discuss the challenges of digital literacy, particularly in the context of Artificial Intelligence, as well as the role of public policy in this area.
Luís Barreto Xavier will be part of the debate panel dedicated to the social impact of technology and Artificial Intelligence, alongside Joana Gonçalves de Sá, physicist, researcher and science communicator; Cláudia Webster-Saraiva, Legal and Policy Officer DSA at the European Commission Representation in Portugal; and Tiago Cunha Martins, specialist in innovation and digital transformation in the public sector.
