Abreu Advogados will host the 2nd UIA (Union Internationale des Avocats) Biennial Global Mobility Forum, which will take place in Lisbon from 28 to 30 January, bringing together lawyers, experts and decision-makers from different jurisdictions to discuss the key challenges of global mobility in an international context marked by profound transformation.
The UIA Biennial Global Mobility Forum aims to provide a platform for open debate, collaboration and knowledge-sharing, encouraging interaction between participants and speakers in an environment of professional closeness and international cooperation. The objective is to reinforce the need for coordinated legal responses capable of keeping pace with the complexity of migration pathways and of supporting clients in a cross-cutting and strategic manner.
Inês Sequeira Mendes, Managing Partner of the firm, and partner Pedro Pais de Almeida will host the event, while Pedro Ferreira Malaquias, co-head of the Financial Law practice area, will be a speaker on 29 January, between 2:45pm and 3:45pm, to discuss how Banking Law and financial compliance rules influence international mobility.
The forum proposes an in-depth reflection on the multiple factors shaping contemporary migration pathways, ranging from high-net-worth individuals and highly skilled professionals to artists, entrepreneurs and refugees. In addition to strictly migration-related issues, the event will also explore, in an integrated way, areas such as tax, labour, financial, arts and business law, underlining the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to legal advice in matters of global mobility.
