Abreu Advogados advises on the acquisition of Estrela da Amadora SAD
Abreu Advogados advised a consortium led by ADvantage and LEAD, with the support of KI Group, on the acquisition of CFEA – Club Football Estrela SAD (Estrela da Amadora). The transaction involved the transfer of a majority stake in the sports company.
The consortium includes investors from the sports, technology and financial sectors, alongside renowned football players such as Thomas Müller, Mats Hummels, Yann Sommer and Lucas Hernández.
The legal team was led by Mike Herbert, Lucinda Bayley and Oliver Levett of Northridge, with support from Arendt & Medernach on matters relating to Luxembourg law.
In Portugal, the transaction was led by Fernando Veiga Gomes, Partner and Head of the Sports practice at Abreu Advogados, with the support of André Pereira da Fonseca, Hugo Teixeira, Gonçalo Delicado, Sofia Silva e Sousa, Patrícia Saraiva de Aguilar, Francisco Côrte-Real, Inês Adro and Inês Cortez Elói. The multi-jurisdictional transaction involved complex negotiations, due diligence and the structuring of a solution that reflected the strategic interests of the parties involved, drawing on Abreu Advogados’ extensive experience in highly complex acquisitions of sports companies.
This acquisition represents a significant step for Estrela da Amadora, securing substantial resources to strengthen the club’s structures.
