Abreu Advogados welcomes NOVA School of Law students for training on Sports Law
Today, 21 April, Abreu Advogados is hosting a training session dedicated to Sports Law for students of NOVA School of Law. The initiative offers close engagement with key issues in this field, through a session bringing together different legal perspectives on the framework governing sporting activity.
The training forms part of a practical and multidisciplinary approach to Sports Law, an area in which Abreu Advogados provides cross-cutting legal support, particularly in matters relating to employment law, corporate law and dispute resolution.
The programme begins at 4.00 pm with the session “Sports employment contracts”, delivered by Sofia Silva e Sousa. This is followed, from 4.30 pm to 5.00 pm, by Francisco Côrte-Real’s presentation on “Resolution of sports disputes”. After a coffee break, from 5 pm to 5.15 pm, the session resumes with “The legal framework of Sports Companies”, presented by Fernando Veiga Gomes, head of the Sports Law practice area at Abreu Advogados.
The session aims to provide students with an applied perspective on some of the sector’s most relevant issues, highlighting the growing legal complexity of sport and the importance of a specialised and multidisciplinary approach.
