Alexandra Courela shortlisted for the Chambers DEI Awards 2024
Alexandra Courela has been nominated for the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Outstanding Contribution category at the Chambers DEI Awards 2024. This nomination is the result of her leading role in areas of Abreu Advogados such as Sustainability and the internal innovation project in human resources.
The Abreu Advogados partner is one of the main people responsible for the Pro-Bono Committee and the Sustainability area at Abreu Advogados, and has more recently joined the ESG Committee at Abreu Advogados.
Alexandra Courela has helped drive forward some of Abreu Advogados’ projects, such as the CAIS association, a key project centred on social inclusion, or the Academia dos Champs, a project that was born out of its founders’ desire to share their personal experience to motivate young people in situations of social vulnerability to adopt a life philosophy with a strong connection to sport from an early age.
The Abreu Advogados partner also advised on World Youth Day 2023, one of the biggest events in the world, attended by around 1.5 million young people from all over the world.
Within the firm, Alexandra Courela is involved in initiatives that go beyond traditional human resources initiatives. More than the process of recruiting, training and integrating young lawyers, the Abreu Advogados partner is dedicated to monitoring their personal and professional well-being, fostering innovation and learning and ensuring the proper integration and retention of talent in the firm.
The nominations for these awards and the final winners are the result of numerous interviews and exhaustive research carried out by Chambers and Partners’ team of research analysts.
The awards ceremony will take place on 25 April in Paris.
