Tiago Corrêa do Amaral to speak at IBA webinar “Data centres and the energy sector”

Tiago Corrêa do Amaral will be a speaker at the webinar “Data centres and the energy sector: emerging risks and reliability challenges”, organised by the International Bar Association (IBA), on 18 March.

The session will explore the critical and rapidly growing intersection between data centres and the energy sector, in a context where the exponential increase in the use of artificial intelligence and cloud computing has led to a significant rise in energy consumption. This development raises important challenges in terms of grid reliability, security of supply and the regulatory framework.

Organised by the IBA Power Law Committee and the Energy, Environment, Natural Resources and Infrastructure Law Section (SEERIL), the webinar will address, among other topics, emerging risks associated with the stable supply of energy to highly energy-intensive infrastructures, as well as possible regulatory and operational solutions aimed at ensuring sustainable coexistence between these sectors.
