Eduardo Peixoto Gomes discusses shareholder rights in restructuring proceedings at INSOL Europe Annual Congress
Eduardo Peixoto Gomes, Partner at Abreu Advogados, will be speaking at the 45th INSOL Europe Annual Congress, taking place from 15 to 18 October in Vilamoura, Portugal. The event brings together international experts to discuss the main challenges and trends in corporate restructuring and insolvency.
On 16 October, at 11.30 am, Eduardo Peixoto Gomes will join the panel “Last in Line or Still in the Game? Shareholder Rights in European Restructuring”, which will explore shareholder rights in corporate restructuring proceedings across Europe. The session will examine the role and position of shareholders in these proceedings, against a backdrop of evolving restructuring mechanisms and different European legal frameworks.
The discussion will be moderated by Robert Woudenberg, from NautaDutilh, and will also feature Cedric Alter, from Alter Vanderstappen Robert, and Jenny Davidson, from Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP.
In addition to his role as a speaker, Eduardo Peixoto Gomes is a member of the Congress Technical Committee, which is responsible for shaping the technical programme and selecting the topics for discussion, alongside professionals from various European law firms.
Under the theme “Follow the tide or surf the wave: Stay afloat in a fragmented world”, the 2026 INSOL Europe Annual Congress will focus on the challenges posed by geopolitical, economic and regulatory fragmentation to corporate restructuring and insolvency. The programme will also address issues relating to artificial intelligence, preventive restructuring frameworks, asset recovery and the latest developments in European insolvency law.
Organised by INSOL Europe, the European association of professionals specialising in restructuring, recovery and insolvency, the Congress provides a platform for discussion and knowledge-sharing among lawyers, academics and other industry experts.
