Fernando Veiga Gomes comments the ‘Trial of the Century’ on ‘Jogo Económico’

Fernando Veiga Gomes was a guest on Jornal Económico’s ‘Jogo Económico’ programme, where he commented on what has been dubbed the ‘Trial of the Century’. The Premier League has put Manchester City on trial for 115 financial offences, with no chance of appeal, whatever the decision.

‘On the one hand, there was an action by City against the Premier League, in which the club said that certain rules on the financial control of clubs were illegal. Nobody won. Another situation has to do with the ‘Trial of the Century’, which consists of 115 offences committed by City against the rules laid down by the Premier League. Many have to do with refusing to provide information and date back to 2009. The sanctions can result in fines, loss of points or exclusion from competitions,’ says the Abreu Advogados partner.
