Abreu Advogados reinforces the Criminal Law, Sanctions and Compliance area with the integration of Paulo de Sá e Cunha

The lawyer joins the firm’s Criminal, Sanctions and Compliance team, together with Cátia Muchacho. 

With over 30 years of experience, Paulo de Sá e Cunha is one of the most renowned lawyers in the areas of Criminal, Sanctions, Compliance and Investigations, areas which he will strengthen at Abreu Advogados, joining the team coordinated by Francisco Patrício, Ana Rita Duarte de Campos and Pedro Barosa.

With a degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, Paulo de Sá e Cunha was the director of the legal department of SUCH – Serviço de Utilização Comum dos Hospitais (Service for the Common Use of Hospitals), between 1998 and 2002, head of Office of the Secretary of State of Health Administration between 1989 and 1990, and president of Fórum Penal – Association of Criminal Lawyers, in the biennium 2012-2014. Paulo de Sá e Cunha also held the position of member of the Lisbon District Council of the Portuguese Bar Association and recently assumed the presidency of the Superior Council of the Portuguese Bar Association.

The Criminal Law, Sanctions and Compliance team at Abreu Advogados has extensive experience in complex criminal and misdemeanor cases, providing specialized and personalized legal advice.
