Ana Panão is an Associated Partner and has been at Abreu Advogados since 2017, working primarily in the areas of intellectual property and information technology.
She attends to dispute resolution in judicial courts on matters of intellectual property rights, and in arbitration courts in cases relating to disputes between patent holders and generic medication companies. She advises companies in different sectors on various private rights applicable to industrial property and copyright. She advises clients on the administrative procedures phase involved in registering private rights at the INPI (the Portuguese National Industrial Property Institute) and in the judicial phase, on granting and opposing these rights.
She focuses particularly on civil lawsuits involving the infringement of trademark rights, rights pertaining to design and/or blueprints and copyright, criminal proceedings involving counterfeiting, cases involving customs intervention and arbitration proceedings relating to chemical and pharmaceutical patent litigation. She also has extensive experience on advising in the pre-litigation phase in the protection of private rights relating to industrial property.
She has extensive experience in advising on matters of intellectual property in transactions covering a broad spectrum of industries and services, including the health, real estate and banking sectors and the hospitality industry.
She is an Arbitrator at ARBITRARE – Arbitration Centre for Industrial Property, Domain Names, Trade Names and Corporate Names.
