Ana Panão is an associated partner and has been at Abreu Advogados since 2017, working in the area of Intellectual Property.

Ana represents clients in judicial courts on matters of intellectual property rights, in particular industrial  property rights, such as trademarks, designs and patents. She advises companies in various sectors on the various private industrial property and copyright rights. She advises clients in the administrative procedure phase of registering industrial property rights at INPI (National Institute of Industrial Property) and in the judicial phase relating to the granting and challenging of these rights.

Ana focuses her activity on litigation involving trademarks, designs, patents and copyright infringement. She also has extensive experience in advising during the pre-litigation stage concerning the protection of industrial property rights.

She is an Arbitrator at ARBITRARE – Arbitration Centre for Industrial Property, Domain Names, Trade Names and Corporate Names.

Ana is also a member of the Standing Committee on Trademarks of AIPPI, a member of ECTA´s Design Committee, Treasurer of ACPI and founding associate of JALP – Associação Internacional de Jovens Advogados de Língua Portuguesa.

Advising national and international companies in criminal proceedings arising from the infringement of trademark and design rights in the health and industrial design industry;

Representation of international companies in customs intervention proceedings arising from trademark infringement in the sports, fashion and entertainment industry;

Representation of national and international companies in copyright infringement proceedings in the fashion, industrial design and pharmaceutical industry;

Representation of national and international companies in the phase of the appeal to the Intellectual Property Court of the decisions of granting and refusal of industrial property rights rendered by INPI in the sports, fashion, pharmaceutical, financial, hospitality, automotive, catering, wine and entertainment industry;

Representation of national and international companies in the registration of industrial property rights at INPI in the sports, fashion, pharmaceutical, financial, hospitality, automotive, catering, wine and entertainment industry;

Secondment at a prominent Portuguese scientific research institution.
