José Eduardo Martins discusses how to convert waste into energy in Portugal at the 7th National Urban Cleaning Meeting
José Eduardo Martins, partner at Abreu Advogados with extensive experience in Environmental and Energy Law, will be taking part in the 2025 National Urban Cleaning Meeting on 8 July. At 2:50 p.m., the lawyer will speak on the topic “Converting waste into energy in Portugal”, alongside Fernando Leite (CEO of LIPOR) and Ricardo Campos (President of the Energy and Climate Forum).
Organised by the Urban Cleaning Association – Partnership for Smarter and More Sustainable Cities (ALU), this year’s edition of the National Urban Cleaning Meeting begins today. Running until 9 July at the Alfândega do Porto, it is the only event in Portugal dedicated to this subject.
Under the theme “Litter-Free Streets: The Cities We Want”, the seventh ENLU features three days of conferences and an exhibition area where companies in the sector can showcase their innovations and equipment, while municipalities present their initiatives.
The event brings together local authorities from across the country and the autonomous regions, municipal companies, public utilities, equipment and service providers, state entities, academic and research institutions, private waste management companies, sector associations, among others.
