Filipa Calheiros Ferraz speaks about ecocide in ELSA Portucalense webinar

Filipa Calheiros Ferraz, an associate at Abreu Advogados who works primarily in the Public and Environment practice area, is taking part today, 26 November, as a speaker in the webinar “Ecocide and Environmental Responsibility”, organised by ELSA Portucalense as part of ELSA Day.

This event is held annually across the entire ELSA network as part of the Annual Human Rights Campaign (AHRC), promoted by ELSA International, currently under the theme “Human Rights and Climate Justice”.

The lawyer will speak about the concept of ecocide and how it differs from environmental crime, the legal framework surrounding ecocide, Portugal’s environmental responsibility, the role of States, companies and consumers in the fight against ecocide, as well as future perspectives.
