Miguel Teixeira de Abreu is the Chairman of the Advisory Board and Founding Partner of Abreu Advogados.
Works primarily on the corporate, financial and taxation aspects of business structuring and corporate restructuring operations.
Chambers & Partners has recognized Miguel Teixeira de Abreu as an “Eminent Practitioner” well versed in advising corporate clients on tax structuring relating to M&A transactions and restructuring mandates.
In the context of corporate reorganisations, he provides support in several transfer pricing projects in various industries and, in particular, in the planning and negotiation of pre-assessment agreements with tax authorities. He has been the lead in tax litigation cases involving double taxation, breach of EU laws, and transfer pricing.
He focuses on matters relating to mergers, demergers and acquisitions, asset contributions, and exchange of shares, particularly in connection with international tax and project finance.
Additionally, he participates in investment operations in Angola and Mozambique, advising on tax issues and assisting Abreu International Legal Solutions’ lawyers in their interchange with lawyers based in Angola and Mozambique. Finally, with an Active role in some of the most relevant restructuring operations in multinational groups taking place in Portugal, Miguel has extensive experience in advising on transactions in the healthcare, telecommunications, automobile, ports and financial sectors.
