Bárbara de Sousa Basto has been a Lawyer since 2005, working in the areas of employment, litigation, commercial, civil, family and criminal law.

She focuses on matters relating to regular employment advice to national companies, including opinions, audits, disciplinary procedures, hiring, counterordenations and litigation.

Bárbara has an active role in advising national companies in the analysis and drafting of contracts, collections, insolvencies and civil and criminal litigation.

She also provides regular assistance of private clients, especially in the areas of labor, family and civil law.

She has intervention in the following sectors of activity: automotive sector, tourism & leisure, third sector, insurance, technology, media & telecommunications and private clients & family businesses.

Barbara de Sousa Basto is a Researcher at the Center for Legal and Economic Research (CIJE) and Executive Director of the Portuguese Pole of the Institute for Certification and Training of Lusophone Mediators.

She is a Guest Lecturer at the Porto School of the Faculty of Law of Universidade Católica Portuguesa and a Member of the Supervisory Board of the Portuguese Bar Association.
