Nuno Luís Sapateiro and Rodrigo Formigal contribute to the 2025 “Insurance & Reinsurance” guide

Abreu Advogados partners Nuno Luís Sapateiro and Rodrigo Formigal have contributed to the 2025 “Insurance & Reinsurance” Guide, published by Chambers and Partners, with the chapter “Portugal: Trends and Developments.”

The authors highlight an increase in direct insurance production, according to a report by the Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Authority (ASF), and predict that in 2025, the Portuguese insurance market will continue to evolve, offering opportunities for foreign investors, insurers, and insurance distributors.

While the sector in Portugal has faced challenges such as digitalisation and new regulations, growth opportunities have been significant, with events such as the pandemic, cyberattacks, and climate change raising consumer awareness of risks.
