Diogo Pessanha appointed honorary consul of the Embassy of Luxembourg in Lisbon

Diogo Pessanha has been appointed the new Honorary Consul of Luxembourg in Lisbon, with jurisdiction over the districts of Porto, Aveiro, Braga, Viana do Castelo, Vila Real, Bragança, Viseu and Guarda.

In this honorary role, his main responsibilities will include providing local support to the Luxembourgish community residing in Portugal, promoting economic, cultural, and institutional cooperation between Luxembourg and the regions under his jurisdiction, and symbolically representing the country at public events, inaugurations, and official engagements.

“It is with a deep sense of honour and responsibility that I accept the appointment as Honorary Consul of Luxembourg in Lisbon, with jurisdiction over the north and centre of Portugal. This role represents a unique opportunity for me to actively contribute to strengthening the historical and trusted relationship between Portugal and Luxembourg. My primary objective will be to serve Luxembourgish citizens with dedication and efficiency, support institutional cooperation, and foster new synergies between the business and academic communities of both countries. I am confident that, through dialogue and commitment, we can further deepen the ties that unite our nations.”
