Carla dos Santos Aires

Carla dos Santos Aires is a Managing Associate and has been at Abreu Advogados since 2013. She works primarily in civil, commercial and banking litigation, coordinating the firm’s collection litigation practice area.

She works mainly in the areas of civil litigation, tax litigation, insolvency and company recovery, credit recovery, and with large-scale portfolios and with the largest financial and credit institutions in Portugal.

She has particular involvement and experience in civil litigation, as well as in the processing of mortgage credit cases and associated matters. She has advised a number of credit institutions, funds and other investors, leasing and ALD companies and various service providers, in monitoring the respective distributed processes, as well as within the scope of credit portfolio transactions (NPL and NPE). She also has extensive experience in pre-litigation and litigation counselling.

She has conducted numerous out-of-court negotiations, restructuring operations and credit transfers, and has provided legal representation in various disputes submitted to the Portuguese courts. She advises on declaratory, enforcement and tax actions, injunction proceedings, inventory proceedings, precautionary measures, insolvency proceedings and special revitalisation proceedings.
