Ana Rodrigues de Almeida has written an opinion piece for Jornal Económico, in which she discusses the outsourcing of services by the courts and the delays observed in case handling, particularly during the judicial holiday period.
The professional partner at Abreu highlights that “this is not the practice in all administrative courts across the country, as there are summonses that are issued, as they should be, within a short and reasonable time frame.” However, “as it stands, the administrative act in question was expected to have already been suspended”, and the posting of summonses by mail, coupled with the failure to distinguish between urgent and non-urgent cases, leads to “dramatic consequences”.
