Abreu Advogados advises the Afifi Group
Abreu Advogados advised Busway, a subsidiary of the Israeli group Afifi, on its participation in the public tender for the concession of the public road passenger transport service in the Coimbra Region, launched by the Intermunicipal Community of the Coimbra Region. Three lots were put out to tender, for five-year operating contracts and a total estimated value of around 75 million euros. Busway was awarded all the lots.
Abreu Advogados advised Busway on all the preparatory issues related to participation in the tender, from electronic signatures, tender documents, qualification documents and the definition of the company model to be set up in the event of an award. Abreu Advogados also assisted Busway in the preparation of the notification to the Competition Authority and the incorporation of the SPVs, including drawing up all the corporate documents and monitoring the licence applications required for the start of the operation.

It should be remembered that in August last year, Busway had already guaranteed the operation of the new public passenger transport service in the Aveiro region, with the activation of a total of 111 lines, served by 120 buses, which cover more than 3,200,000 kilometres through the 11 municipalities of this region.
