Abreu Advogados contributes to the ICLG Gambling 2026 guide

Alexandra Courela, Ricardo Henriques and Matilde Carvalho e Cortinhal contributed to the Portugal chapter of the “Gambling Laws and Regulations Portugal 2026” guide, published by the International Comparative Legal Guides (ICLG), which analyses the main global trends and regulatory frameworks in the gambling sector.

The guide provides a comprehensive overview of the legal framework governing gambling in Portugal, covering regulatory authorities and applicable legislation, as well as licensing requirements, rules for online gambling (with specific regulation for sports betting, casino games and poker), enforcement mechanisms and sanctions.
