Nuno Cunha Barnabé comments on the Portuguese digital nomad visa
Nuno Cunha Barnabé, partner at Abreu Advogados and tax specialist, expresses his opinion about the Portuguese digital nomad visa and its benefits for The Times.
Regarding the digital nomad visa for remote workers that have a minimum monthly income of 2,820€ (2,424£), Nuno Cunha Barnabé argues that since October there is a digital nomad visa option in Portugal that offers more flexibility than residency options.
Also, the Tax specialist claims that “you can stay between four months and a year and if it’s less than 183 days it will not impact your tax residency. The D7 visa is popular but assumes you don’t need to work and requires permanent, and tax, residence”.
