Martim Menezes is a member of the board of directors of the Knowledge Institute.

Partner at Abreu Advogados since 2020, works mainly in the Corporate and M&A and Litigation and Arbitration practice areas.

Before joining the firm Martim was a partner, for over 20 years, at another law firm with offices in Lisbon and in Oporto. He works on litigation matters, corporate, TMT and in the coordination of large international and domestic operations.

He is registered with the Sao Paulo’s Brazilian Bar Association, having worked in that country assisting clients in very important operations.

He assisted clients, in more than fifteen countries, in several operations including structuring the entry and exit of corporations, investments, disinvestments, negotiations, contracts, litigation matters and generally from a legal perspective in risk management operations.

He assists multinational corporations with offices in Portugal and in Europe, by structuring said investment.

He also assists international clients in the media sector (press, television and internet) telecommunications, technology, tourism, real estate and health sectors.

Experience

First Portuguese Lawyer to coordinate a direct filing with Nasdaq, together with with Davis Polk, in an operation valued in 800 million USD.

Assistance in the acquisition of a participation in a company in the Angolan media sector.

Assistance in the sale of a Portuguese Hospital to a French Group.

Assistance in the acquisition of six corporations owned by a holding undergoing bankruptcy proceedings, which owned 30 000 sqm in Lisbon, all held as collateral by banks and other creditors.

Assistance in the investment structuring in Portugal by the largest Brazilian Group in the Tourism sector

Assistance to a Brazilian Group in the north of Portugal in structuring a real estate transaction with particular emphasis on time sharing matters.

Negotiation between a Brazilian and Spanish Group of a gas distribution agreement for Portugal.

Assistance and coordination of all litigation matters for a large Portuguese communications group registered in the stock exchange.

Representation and coordination of all litigation matters for a large international group in Portugal against a local media group.

Assisting a Portuguese multinational entity in Malaysia in negotiating contracts, involving millions of euros, in the telecommunications sector.
