Francisco Patrício is a non-executive member of the Board of Directors of Abreu Advogados.
Partner since 2011, he works primarily in real estate and corporate law, insolvency, restructuring and litigation.
He has extensive experience in restructuring and insolvency in Portugal and internationally. He provides advice on an ongoing basis to a wide range of clients including some of the largest groups in the Portuguese economy who have sought advice in pre-insolvency phases (SIREVEs, PERs or PEAPs) or during insolvency itself. He also has experience in the acquisition and sales of NPL portfolios as well as in negotiating with creditors during the restructuring process.
As regards his experience in corporate and real estate law, he has focused primarily on investment in real estate in Portugal on behalf of foreign clients. He provides advisory services ranging from the selection of assets (with the relevant signatures of letters of intent, NDAs, promissory agreements and other undertakings), their acquisition by various means, including the investment funds in companies based either in Portugal or abroad, the drafting of all types of guarantees (where financing is involved), shareholders’ agreements, investment agreements and the creation of various capital holding structures.
He began his career as a lawyer in litigation, an area in which he has maintained consistent focus, dealing with both civil and corporate litigation, representing a diverse client base including banks, insurance companies, investment funds, public and private sector companies, construction companies, family businesses and private clients.
Since 2020, he is a member of INSOL Europe Council, being the first Portuguese elected to this role.
