Nuno Luís Sapateiro discusses innovation and technology in the insurance sector

Nuno Luís Sapateiro, partner at Abreu Advogados, stated in an interview with Jornal Económico that insurers’ ability to collect and process data has increased significantly with technological innovation.

“Artificial intelligence (AI), technologies such as Machine Learning (ML), IoT sensors, real-time data, and next-generation information assessment software are essential tools that have enabled insurers to enhance their performance across all stages of the value chain — from product underwriting to claims settlement,” he added.

According to the Abreu Advogados partner, the use of these technologies has also allowed for more accurate risk analysis and the efficient personalisation of products and contractual terms, requiring less investment while better meeting the specific needs of clients.
