Mário João Fernandes discusses collaboration in the Defence sector at Business Connect Defense France/Portugal
Mário João Fernandes, co-head of the Defence and Homeland Security sector at Abreu Advogados, is taking part today in Business Connect | Portugal-France Defence Meetings – Partnerships and Opportunities, organised by the Portuguese-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCILF) in Porto.
He is joining the event’s second panel, dedicated to partnership instruments, where he will address the mechanisms and frameworks relevant to developing collaboration in the defence sector. The session will also bring together representatives from Accent Capital, AXC – Assurances Conseil, Thales and Critical Software.
This second edition of Business Connect is dedicated to the defence sector and aims to bring Portuguese and French companies and organisations closer together, fostering the identification of opportunities for industrial, technological and commercial cooperation. Throughout the day, participants will discuss the development prospects of the Portuguese market, key research and development projects, opportunities for the conversion of traditional industries and the financing mechanisms available.
Against a backdrop of strengthening European defence capabilities and increasing investment in the sector, the event also seeks to identify synergies between the Portuguese and French ecosystems and to foster the development of joint projects and long-term partnerships. The programme includes a morning of discussions and presentations on both markets, followed by B2B meetings between French and Portuguese companies.
