Diogo Pessanha is a speaker at the IBA Young Lawyers Corporate Governance Forum 2025

Diogo Pessanha will be speaking on 2 December at the IBA Young Lawyers Corporate Governance Forum 2025. The event will take place in Frankfurt, Germany, and will focus on discussing corporate governance with emphasis on M&A transactions, board leadership in times of crisis, and preparing companies for Private Equity investment.

The Abreu Advogados professional partner will take part in the panel “Corporate Governance Preparation for Private Equity Investment: best practices and key considerations”, which will address topics such as:

• governance elements that private equity firms prioritise during due diligence;

• board composition, independence, and fiduciary duties;

• structuring management incentive plans to ensure alignment with objectives; and

• preparing for post-investment governance shifts and operational insight.

The Young Lawyers Corporate Governance Forum is an event organised by the IBA, together with its Corporate and M&A Law Committee and the Securities and Capital Markets Committee. It is aimed particularly at young lawyers who wish to deepen their knowledge of corporate governance.
