Luísa Casimiro da Costa is a senior associate working at Abreu Advogados since 2019 with wide-ranging experience in providing tax advice to Portuguese corporate groups and multinationals, in corporate restructuring and reorganisations, and in accompanying tax proceedings.

With more than 12 years’ experience across the board in the field of Tax Law, she has a solid background in national and international taxation, and her practice covers a wide range of matters relating to direct and indirect taxes. Luísa has a strong track record in advising both individuals and companies on investment, restructuring and financing operations, both in Portugal and abroad. Her expertise also extends to property taxation, where she has devoted a great deal of time.

Luísa has also worked in the area of Tax Litigation, acting in tax procedures and cases with a wide range of substantive issues, with a particular focus on Personal Income Tax and Corporate Income Tax matters.

Before joining Abreu Advogados, Luísa collaborated with several renowned firms. In addition, she accumulated significant consultancy experience at a Big4 firm, where she also focussed on the Tax area.

Advice to a family group on restructuring of its assets and asset structuring to ensure transfer between generations

Advising on the re-domiciliation of foreign companies to Portugal

Advising a major economic group on various tax inspection actions, including monitoring the administrative process up to the tax litigation stage

Advising on the acquisition of two large industrial units, structuring the pre- and post-acquisition phases

Advising a property fund on the acquisition of several properties in Portugal
