Joana Rangel de Sousa is an associate lawyer and has been at Abreu Advogados since 2024, working primarly in the area of Employment Law.

She is particularly involved in labour and human resources matters with national and multinational companies, specifically monitoring and providing legal advice, drafting, negotiating, analysing and concluding employment contracts, intervening in the contractual management of human resources – both in recruitment and termination processes, as well as in any changes during the course of the employment relationship (i.e. collective redundancies, job cuts, legal challenges to redundancies, etc.).

She has also been frequently involved in drafting legal opinions, drawing up and revising policies and procedures, regulations and other legal documents. As well as conducting disciplinary procedures and carrying out due-diligence reports in company acquisition and merger processes.

Intervention in the contractual management of Human Resources, both in recruitment and termination processes, as well as in any changes during the course of the employment relationship (i.e. collective redundancies, elimination of employment positions, judicial disputes, etc.).
