ColloquIA: AI Act, Indispensable or Impossible Regulation?
The European Regulation on Artificial Intelligence (AI Act) is a crucial legislative initiative in the current context of the digital transformation of the economy. Therefore, the Law and AI Research Group of the Católica Research Centre for the Future of Law and Instituto de Conhecimento da Abreu Advogados are promoting the 4th ColloquIA, which will delve into the content of the AI Act.
The global regulatory context, the demands for transparency, risk management and the protection of fundamental rights, as well as the governance and responsibilities inherent in the new rules, will be particularly addressed.
The approach is multidisciplinary, and includes leading Portuguese and international academics in the fields of law and technology, personalities involved in the drafting of AI regulations, as well as representatives of a Portuguese unicorn and a large international technology company (big tech).
