Always connected to what really matters
Throughout the year, it is the humanist spirit that moves us and brings us closer together. At the end of the year, we chose to remember the essential: behind every machine, every line of code and every screen, there are people. This year, Abreu Advogados is supporting the Portuguese League Against Cancer and the Vale de Acór Association.

As part of the Legal Up 2023/2024 programme, the Association selected was Vale de Ácor with the aim of continuing the support of the Sustainability School and contributing to the monthly fee for the PHC management programme for a further two years.
The Vale de Acór Association was founded in 1994 and is dedicated to the social reintegration and recovery of people with drug addiction problems and other vulnerable situations. Located in Almada, this association promotes rehabilitation programmes through a Therapeutic Community that welcomes around 80 residents every month. Its main aim is to enable users to achieve autonomy and social reintegration by developing personal, emotional and social skills.
As well as providing care, the association provides training activities, psychological counselling and educational support. It is licensed by SICAD (Service for Intervention in Addictive Behaviours and Dependencies) and has 77 registered beds. Vale de Acór also promotes awareness-raising campaigns and appeals for support from civil society, whether through volunteering or financial donations, strengthening its capacity to intervene in the community.
This year Abreu Advogados will be supporting the Portuguese League Against Cancer. The firm will also involve its employees in a collective initiative for this project.
The Portuguese League Against Cancer is a private, non-profit, non-governmental organisation with a leading role in supporting cancer patients and their families. Founded in 1941, the League’s main objectives are cancer prevention, health promotion, psychosocial support for patients and encouraging research and training in oncology. Its activities are organised through five regional centres: North, Centre, South, Madeira and the Azores.
